About the Venue
The Luckman Fine Arts Complex, located at 5151 State University Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90032, is a premier performing arts venue on the campus of Cal State LA. It comprises the Luckman Theatre, the Intimate Theatre, the Luckman Gallery, and the Street of the Arts. The main Luckman Theatre boasts a seating capacity of 1,152 and features state-of-the-art acoustics, excellent sightlines, a 48-foot wide proscenium, a mechanically operated orchestra pit for sixty musicians, and cinematic projection capabilities. The Intimate Theatre offers modular seating configurations adaptable to various formats, including proscenium, thrust, or in-the-round setups. The 3,600-square-foot Luckman Gallery presents diverse art exhibitions and houses a permanent collection featuring works by renowned artists such as Andy Warhol and Alexander Calder. The Street of the Arts serves as a grand esplanade linking the theatre and gallery spaces, complete with an amphitheater framed by fourteen towering arches offering sweeping views of the San Gabriel Mountains.
