About the Artist

Sunflower Bean is a vibrant indie rock trio from New York City, formed in 2013 while its members were still in high school. The band consists of singer/guitarist Nick Kivlen, singer/bassist Julia Cumming, and drummer Jacob Faber. Known for their interplay of dual vocals and a blend of rock-edged and dreamy guitar sounds, they've carved a niche with a distinctive wall-of-sound style that balances fuzz-driven guitars and melodic hooks. Starting with their 2015 EP 'Show Me Your Seven Secrets,' and their 2016 debut album 'Human Ceremony,' they quickly gained recognition, supporting notable acts like DIIV, The Vaccines, and Best Coast. Their sophomore album 'Twentytwo in Blue' captured a more direct and mature sound reflective of their coming of age and the social climate of their generation, resonating with a millennial spirit of solidarity and change. Their live performances oscillate between energetic rock moments and atmospheric, introspective passages, engaging audiences with both raw power and nuanced melodies.
