About the Artist

The Wrecks, a Los Angeles-based quartet, are an impressive example of DIY ingenuity in the alternative pop rock scene. Originating from a small town in New York, frontman Nick Anderson relocated to LA with a batch of songs, swiftly recruiting talented musicians Nicholas "Schmizz" Schmidt, Aaron Kelley, and William "Billy" Nally. Their early days involved clandestine recording sessions in a borrowed studio, culminating in a memorable escape when the owner unexpectedly returned. This scrappy spirit fuels their music, characterized by infectious hooks, upbeat guitar riffs, and introspective lyrics. Their anthems such as "Favorite Liar" and "Always, Every Time" showcase a blend of catchy melodies with authentic storytelling, often reflecting themes of personal connection and resilience. Live performances are immersive experiences that intentionally connect the band and fans, creating a communal vibe that's both energetic and genuine. Despite recently signing with a major label, The Wrecks maintain their hands-on approach to writing and producing, proudly carrying forward a sound that is unmistakably their own and rooted in indie ethos.
